
Philip Powell is the Assistant Director for Local Affairs and Rural Development with the Public Affairs and Government Relations team at Arkansas Farm Bureau. He started with Farm Bureau in March 2021. In his role, Philip advocates on behalf the organization’s members on issues such as broadband expansion and reliability, municipal issues, county roads, and land issues in rural Arkansas.
Prior to Arkansas Farm Bureau, Philip worked at Chonex, Inc., a sustainable agriculture company based in Birmingham, Alabama. With Chonex, he started as Executive Assistant to the CEO, progressing within the company to ultimately oversee all production operations and business development.
Philip holds a M.S. in Agricultural Economics from The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He studied at The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee where he received a bachelor’s degree in American History.
Philip serves on the board of Arkansas Hands & Voices, a nonprofit organization that helps provide resources and guidance to families with deaf children.
Philip and his family live in Little Rock.
