As a businesswoman and State Representative, Laurie knows what it takes to open a business, run a business and build a business. She understands that economic development is essential in Arkansas, and job creation is a key element. With the tax burden Arkansas currently creates on new businesses, Rushing realizes that in order to recruit new business to Arkansas tax reform is a must.
Laurie is a mother and grandmother who feels that it’s her duty to stand strong for future generations. She believes our children deserve better than to be left with a continually rising tax burden and overreaching government.
Laurie is a resident of Garland County and has one son, Kevin Rushing of Little Rock, and a daughter, the late Tara Rushing Watts. She also has three grandchildren.
