Bootsie Ackerman is the District Director for Congressman Steve Womack (AR-3). She has supervised his district operations since 2011, overseeing offices in Rogers, Fort Smith and Harrison. In her role as the District Director, Mrs. Ackerman provides strategic leadership in planning Congressman Womack’s district schedule and guides the efforts of his district staff to offer excellent constituent service.
Prior to working for Congressman Womack, Mrs. Ackerman was an independent insurance broker specializing in health, life and long term care insurance. Known for her civic engagement at the state and local levels, Mrs. Ackerman has served in many capacities. She was the Founder-Executive Director for the Downtown/Dickson Enhancement Project in Fayetteville (1997-2004) and served out her gubernatorial appointment to the Arkansas Pollution Control & Ecology Commission (1999-2007). She has served on many boards in the past, including Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity and the North Arkansas Symphony. She is currently serving as a board member for Circle of Life Hospice and the World Trade Center Advisory Board. Her leadership in the community has been recognized with various honors of distinction, including the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce Diplomat of the Year and Athena Award as well as the Arkansas Business Journal’s Top 100 Women in Arkansas.
Mrs. Ackerman is married to Bill Ackerman, and together they have four children and four grandchildren. They reside in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
