Tonya Sarlls is the Vice President of Operations at the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce. With an extensive background in the financial services industry spanning over two decades, she brought her expertise to the Chamber in 2015.
As the Vice President of Operations, Tonya plays a pivotal role in the day-to-day functioning of the Chamber. Her responsibilities encompass staff management, fostering strong member relations, meticulously planning, and executing events and programs, and exercising prudent financial management. Under her leadership, the Chamber is a dedicated advocate for business, education, and economic development, focused on enhancing the quality of life and overall economic well-being of Fort Smith’s citizens.
Tonya’s educational journey is marked by significant achievements. She graduated from Southside High School in 1991, followed by her enrollment at Westark Community College (now UAFS) where she majored in accounting. Her pursuit of excellence continued as she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from John Brown University in 2006 while balancing the responsibilities of raising her three children. In 2020, Tonya received her IOM certification from the Chamber Institute of Organizational Management, further enhancing her professional capabilities.
Throughout her career, Tonya has been actively involved in various organizations, reflecting her commitment to community service and growth. Notable affiliations include contributions to the 360 Leadership Organization, Sebastian County Humane Society, Mercy Advisory Board, UAFS Mentorship Program, and the Fort Smith Rotary Club. She is also a 2013 graduate of Leadership Fort Smith.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Tonya enjoys road trips, indulging in antique shopping, and undertaking home improvement projects.
Tonya resides just outside Greenwood, Arkansas where she shares her life with her supportive husband of six years, Roy. She is the proud mother of three amazing children – Brianna of Conway, and Taelor and Trevor, both of Barling. Additionally, her love extends to her four furry companions, Marley, Max, Trixie, and Willie.
