Phillip White is a native of Blytheville, Arkansas and began his career with Nucor-Yamato Steel over 33 years ago. He is a Lead Supervisor for the Rolling Mill department. He is married to Stephanie White; they have two precious daughters Brynnan and Brooke White. Philip loves spending time with his family and their three dogs. He enjoys watching any type of Arkansas Razorback sports, but what Phillip enjoys the most is cooking delicious barbecue.
Nucor-Yamato is part of the Nucor Corporation. Nucor and its affiliates are manufacturers of steel and steel products, with operating facilities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Nucor is North America’s largest recycler.
As a 33-year experienced veteran of steel making, Philip has been in a leadership role for over 17 years. He loves working with the Nucor-Yamato team. Working safe and ensuring that he and his teammates return home safely to their families is a huge priority for him.
Phillip started college at Mississippi County Community College in Blytheville, AR in 1987. Nucor-Yamato offered him a job. This incredible opportunity presented him and his family with a bright future. He started as an entry-level part-time employee in the Receiving department in 1989. Phillip quickly challenged himself to advance in the company. After accepting a full-time job in the Finishing department, in 2005 he received a promotion to a Lead position in the Roll Mill department.
Five years later Phillip worked his way up to a shift Supervisor. In 2019, he then accepted his current role as Lead Supervisor over the Roll Mill at Nucor-Yamato.
During his years of service, the structural beams that he and his team have been able to produce are in structures across the world. It is so amazing to Phillip when he reflects on how he contributed to such a big part in making the structural H-beams for well-known structures across the globe. Busch Stadium, PNC Park, New World Trade Center, Amazon Fulfillment Centers, Tesla Gigafactory, and more.
