Dr. William “Cody” Decker is an education and information technology leader that serves as the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Chief Data Officer for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Previously, Cody served as the Assistant Commissioner and Chief Information Officer for the Arkansas Department of Education.
Cody has a proven record for identifying and proactively solving complex business challenges for measurable cost savings and significant performance improvements. Cody has repeatedly developed and managed enterprise- and state-level computer networks and information systems, focusing on total quality management and business process improvement. Cody and his team’s work in the State of Arkansas to improve student educational outcomes through research and technology received recognition at both state and federal levels.
Cody received his B.S. in Information Science, M.S. in Information Quality, and Ph.D. in Integrated Computing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He completed the Management Development Program at Harvard University. Cody has industry certifications in data science, information technology security, project management, and systems engineering.
Cody has a passion for leveraging data and technology to improve his community. He currently serves on the Arkansas State Geographical Information Systems Board and recently served as the Vice President of the Pulaski County Court Appointed Special Advocates.
Cody and his wife, Brooke, an educator for the Little Rock School District, live in Roland, Arkansas, with their son, Carter.
