Matt Westbrook started at Nucor Arkansas in Aug of 1999 as an entry level production worker. He is currently the Engineering / Maintenance Manager at Nucor Steel Arkansas. His primary responsibilities are the Safety of their Team, the reliability or their processes, and the development of Nucor’s future talent. Matt graduated from Arkansas Northeastern College with an A.A and an A.A. in Industrial technology. He has two wonderful children, John William, who is 21 years old, and Ellie Paige, who is 16 years old. Matt is currently engaged to Dr. Liesel Powicki from Nebraska.
Matt focuses on 3 values to guide his leadership style: authenticity, empathy, and with quality (quality in relationships and quality in communications). In his spare time, Matt enjoys reading (mostly fiction), robotics, golf, hunting, wood working, a good red wine 🙂 and most of all his work. He proudly says that Nucor is a family oriented company that truly cares about their team and their communities and he is glad he gets to be a part of helping both succeed.
