
Joan Shofner is Assistant Vice-President and Campaign Manager for the Advancement Division at the University of Central Arkansas where she is part of a team that has experienced record fundraising success for the past two years. In her current role, she oversees campaign operations and communications, advancement services and annual giving. Joan joined the University of Central Arkansas in 2010 when she was named the first Director of Advancement Research. She was promoted to Executive Director of Advancement Services in 2016 and to her current role in 2018.
She began her career in fundraising in 1998 when she was named the first Executive Director for the St. Joseph School Endowment in Conway. She also served as Director of Development for Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock and Associate Director for Conway Regional Health Foundation.
Joan graduated high school from Mount St. Mary Academy in Little Rock, earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Geography from the University of Central Arkansas, and a Master’s of Science degree in Geographic Information Systems from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.
She is a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Conway and is currently Assistant Governor and Public Image Coordinator for Rotary District 6170. She served as an Assistant Public Image Coordinator for Rotary Zone 31 in 2015-16. She is a Paul Harris Fellow, Rotarian of the Year, and Bravo Zulu award recipient.
Joan is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement, and Council for Advancement and Support of Education. She is a former board member and Past President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Arkansas Chapter.
She and her husband, Greg Shofner, own Conway Precast, an architectural precast company, and Shofner Properties LLC in Conway. They have two sons, Matthew and Michael, who attend Little Rock Catholic High School for Boys. She enjoys traveling in their RV, watching her sons play football, canoeing, camping, and spending time with family and friends.
