
Kent Fonvielle joined MISO in April 2017 as Executive Director for MISO South Region. In this role, he leads a team of professionals responsible for MISO’s relationship with members, stakeholders and regulators in the South region, extending over all or portions of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
Kent is a seasoned energy executive with close to three decades of experience in all facets of the energy industry, from engineering and operations to regulatory compliance.
Before joining MISO, Kent held successive e roles of increasing responsibility at Charlotte, N.C.-based Duke Energy Corp. Most recently, he led a team responsible for regulatory affairs and policy for Duke’s two Carolinas’ utilities, focused on strategy development for regulatory programs, filings, and rate recovery activities.
Kent received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He serves on the Make-A-Wish Central Arkansas Regional Board, the Arkansas Research Alliance Board, the FBI Private Sector Advisory Board, and the Center for Public Utilities Advisory Board.
Kent and his wife, Julie, both native North Carolinians now reside in Little Rock, Arkansas.
