Robert Shields holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Economics from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.
He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas’ Economics Department in 1987, and was also awarded the Outstanding Student in Economics by the University in 1986. He has more than thirty years of experience in the electric utility industry and been involved in matters before the Arkansas Public Service Commission such as cost of service studies, rate analysis, general rate cases, debt placement issuances, transmission and generating plant sitings, tariffs, rate riders, power purchase agreements, qualifying facility rates, resource planning, acquisitions of power plants, quality of service audits, consumer complaints, and rulemaking proceedings over his career. He has also managed multiple dockets on AECC’s behalf before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He has served on numerous utility committees over the years.
He is an avid runner even though his ankle tells him otherwise. Besides drowning, he enjoys anything that involves water. He is currently, Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation’s Manager of Rates and Regulation.
