Kurt Schrock is a Senior Leader with broad cross-functional experience at Tyson Foods, Inc. His career spans twenty-three (23) years of Operations and HR roles in a number of different locations both domestically and abroad.
Prior to college and during and after college, Kurt studied abroad in Spain, Costa Rica, and Mexico. A graduate of Arkansas Tech University, with a degree in Spanish and Political Science, Kurt was able to put that degree to work immediately. He started his career at Tyson Foods, Inc. in Clarksville, AR in 1994 as a Production Supervisor. He moved very quickly from plant operations to HR with roles as HR Supervisor/Spanish Instructor in 1995 to HR Manager in 1996 in Garland, TX. In 1996, he moved to South Georgia as the HR Manager for Buena Vista, GA. Kurt was involved in union contract negotiations and administration in both Texas and Georgia. In 1997, he was promoted to Complex HR Manager in Forest, MS where he managed the HR function for the totally integrated Poultry complex until 2001. In 2001, Kurt returned to Arkansas as Director of HR Operations. There he put his language abilities and labor negotiation skills to work for the next sixteen (16) years at the Corporate level managing HR for facilities and the Corporate office across the US and Mexico. Kurt is an accomplished HR Director with experience in both plant operations (Poultry/Beef/Pork/Prepared Foods) and Corporate HR with HR Business partnerships with Corporate Finance, Continuous Improvement, Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Affairs, Legal/Ethics and Compliance/Internal Audit/Claims, Distribution, Sales, Marketing, Plant Operations, Branding, Advertising, Product Innovation and Investor Relations.
Kurt has been effective in leading and driving Organizational Development, Training, Leadership Development, Labor Relations and Talent Review within the enterprise. He leads with a Servant-Leader management style and is able to build and empower effective teams that achieve results. He is a skilled and effective communicator that is able to influence change. He is bilingual and in English and in Spanish. Kurt has a proven record of positive and strong results. Kurt has a strong reputation for professionalism, integrity and exemplary character.
In and outside of work, Kurt has gotten involved in groups important to him and the committees he has worked in. Over the years, he has been actively involved in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, American Heart Association, WorkMatters, Rodeo of the Ozarks, Economic Development of Springdale, Men’s Business Resource Group at Tyson, Leadership Springdale Class XXI and Leadership and planning committee for
Leadership Springdale Class XXII. He also served for three (3) years on the Making a Difference committee at the Tyson Corporate office.
Kurt is able to teach, grow, mentor and develop others in his current role. He tries to be an example to others through integrity, candor and his Faith.
As a Christian, Kurt is able to live out his Faith at work and is allowed to participate in WorkMatters functions in NWA as well as participate in and lead Bible studies and prayer sessions. Kurt and his wife Kim will be joining other Christians in March of 2018 on a ten (10) day journey throughout Israel to see and study the places that are significant to the life of Jesus.
