Derek Wingfield was born, raised, and educated in Arkansas and continues to work in and for his native state as a professional and volunteer. A graduate of Arkadelphia High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design at Ouachita Baptist University and a master’s degree in organizational and interpersonal communication from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Committed to the ethical use of effective communication and innovate ideas to achieve success and transform lives, Derek works to help others articulate and accomplish their goals. He is the supervisor of corporate communications at Southwest Power Pool (SPP), where his team works to facilitate the collaboration of nearly 100 member companies across 14 states working to keep the lights on for 17.5 million people. Through Oasis Church — where his wife, April, serves as Director of Connections — Derek has been part of local, regional, and national mission trips; spoken at churches across the state; taught and counseled in youth and marriage/family contexts; and otherwise served his community through projects to feed the homeless, provide shelter and supplies for

He also regularly mediates conflicts between his twin five-year-old daughters.
