Free Enterprise Arkansas
The Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas, our members and our coalition partners represent the lifeblood of the Arkansas economy. We pay the taxes. We create the jobs. We defend freedom and we build dreams.
Capitalism is at a crossroads. The free enterprise system, based upon the values of individual initiative, hard work, risk, innovation and profit, built our great country. We must take action to reaffirm the spirit of enterprise in Arkansas.
Business matters in Arkansas and is one of the primary reasons the State Chamber/AIA exists. We believe in the free enterprise system and we will vigorously promote and defend it without fear or favor. That’s why we are proud to launch the Free Enterprise Arkansas campaign for the promotion and defense of the free enterprise system in our state and our nation.
Free Enterprise Arkansas and our defense of free enterprise are focused on five core principles:
- Good jobs, good wages and good benefits should be abundant;
- A job is a solution to most social problems that Americans and Arkansans face;
- Free enterprise delivers personal freedom and fosters wealth creation for all;
- Our future generations must understand the value of free enterprise and must be well-educated and workforce-ready; and
- From Wall Street to Main Street, individual initiative and freedom to innovate are keys to our state’s and our country’s long-term prosperity.
- We ask that State Chamber/AIA members:
- Pledge their support publicly for Free Enterprise Arkansas;
- Support our efforts financially; and
- Agree to mobilize to press Washington and Arkansas lawmakers to defend – not destroy – our free enterprise system.
Free Enterprise Arkansas aims to build upon the job creation gains Arkansas has made in the last decade and our state’s position as an economic powerhouse. If we are to create the jobs we need to sustain our economic growth, prosperity and freedom, we must stand up and fight against government efforts to weigh down free enterprise and extinguish the American Dream – whose very foundation rests on a vibrant, free enterprise system.
Free enterprise is not a perfect system, but it is the best system. Through the State Chamber/AIA’s work, we continually strive to improve it and expand its benefits to all Arkansans. Through this new campaign, we seek to preserve an entrepreneurial system that is still the envy of the world and make sure it survives for future generations.
